The 2019 Accelerated School Readiness (ASR)
Two months of preschool learning have been going well both in Aysita and Berehalle towns of Afar region. About 500 children are attending ASR in this year. The program is apart of BSRP program, supported By Unicef and implemented by Edulkans and DEC in cooperation with regional and district education offices.
Trained Facilitators, being supported by ASR guidelines and contextualized books and other materials are giving the session for children of age 6 and above; who cannot access pre–school opportunity uses ASR program.
The program is contributing a lot in making children ready intellectually and emotionally for the next year formal grade, and it is good transition opportunity for children.
