Through its involvement in the education sector over the last 10 years, DEC has realized that there is a huge unmet demand for learning and playing materials in the country.
By looking this as a good opportunity, DEC planned to implement income-generating activities by establishing a center that produces educational and playing materials to fill the gap in the region and country at large.
Hence, the situational analysis was conducted to identify the potential engagement areas, restriction, and requirements. A feasibility study was done, and DEC started the real production of learning materials as of August 2018 in Bahirdar, Amhara Region based on Montessori standards.
