WE can work is a young Women and men with disability focusing project implemented in seven Africa countries like Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal. This project is funded by the Mastercard Foundation under the consortium lead of light for the world implemented for 8 years starting from 2023- 2027. DEC as an implementing partner is responsible for providing core life skill training and technical support to the consortium partners.
The objective of the We Can Work project is Supporting young people with disabilities to access employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
Program outcomes
- The We Can Work Academy equips young people with disabilities with core life skills training and entrepreneurship and leadership trainings
- Young people with disabilities have formed start-ups or have accessed waged employment
