Genet Abraha, a participant from North Wollo Zone, Woldia City Administration, stands as a shining example of the project’s success. Before joining the training she experienced a lot of challenges. Such as lack of job opportunities and inability to cover her families daily expenses. Through the training provided by DEC with funding source from UN Women (she received life skills, entrepreneurship and basic business management training) genet was able to turn her dreams into reality. With a startup capital of 70,000 birr she borrowed from relatives, she established a small shop in Kebele 03.
Since launching her business, Genet has achieved remarkable success, generating an impressive daily income of over 3,000 birr. She credits her accomplishments to the knowledge and motivation gained from the training program. Grateful for the opportunity, she highlights how her business not only ensures a stable income but also enables her to support her family, raise her child, and pay for school expenses.
