Empowerment of Migrant Women Returnees and Women Migrant Workers

This project aims to enhance access to decent work and economic empowerment opportunities for migrant women and migrant women returnees in Addis Ababa City Administration and the Amhara National Regional State (North Wollo and South Wollo zones).

Objectives

Contribute to the enhanced livelihood and empowerment of migrant women returnees and women migrant workers.

Expected Outcomes

  • Migrant women returnees have accessed decent work and economic opportunities.

Expected Outputs

Output 1: Skills and capacities for wage employment or self employment of migrant women returnees are strengthened.

Output 2: Women migrant workers have increased knowledge on safe labor migration and their rights is increased.

Indicators


Indicator 1a: 1,500 migrant women returnees demonstrate improved soft/technical skills.

Indicator 1b: Number of returnees receiving startup support.

Indicator 1c: Number of returnees organized into self-help groups (SHGs).

Indicator 1d: 450 returnees receive vocational/technical skills training.

Indicator 2a: Number of trainers skilled in gender-responsive pre-departure training.

Indicator 2b: Government TVET colleges strengthened with material support.

Indicator 2c: Number of potential women migrant workers showing improved understanding of gender-responsive pre-departure information.

Indicator 2d: Number of women migrant workers demonstrating increased knowledge on safe labor migration.
